There’s this lake in Loveland, right off of I-25, that I like to use a lot for family and maternity photography sessions. The fields, lake, and trees are all beautiful, but really the big draw for this particular spot is the sunset over the mountains. A great sunset at this lake makes for some pretty spectacular photos! I can’t really see the mountains from my neighborhood in Fort Collins, so when I’m doing a session at this lake, I’m always anxious to see what the clouds are doing as I turn on to the highway and get to see the whole picture of how the sky is looking that evening. On the day of this maternity session, it was pretty overcast and was even sprinkling a little as I left my house, but I grew excited when I saw the mountains because I knew the sunset was going to be epic once the sun started to peek out from beneath the clouds! Add to that a beautiful couple glowing with the excitement and anticipation of their first baby, and we had the makings of some really gorgeous maternity photos! I had fun meeting these two and can’t wait to meet their little one soon!
