Baby Reed

The first half of 2018 has been filled with newborns for me, and I have been loving it!  Each baby is unique, each family is unique, and I love being able able to help families document this special and brief season of life.  Being a newborn photographer is equal parts photography and baby whispering.  With each new baby I meet, I learn something new about both aspects of newborn photography and I love that there is always more for me to learn!

One new thing I’ve been working on learning related to newborn photography is needle felting!  If you follow my blog much, I’m sure you’ve seen the adorable little felted wool bears and fox that I sometimes use as props.  Those were made by my son’s super talented former kindergarten teacher, but her work inspired me to learn needle felting so I could learn to make more props.  I knew Reed’s parents love football, so the night before his session, I made a little felted wool football!  I’m thankful to Reed for humoring me and being willing to pose with it. 🙂  He was a pretty easygoing baby for his session, and oh so adorable!  It was so fun to meet him and be his first photographer!
