One thing I love about photography is that it helps me remember to stop and notice things. The way the golden light spills across a soccer field right before sunset, the soft, fuzzy baby hair on the back of my one year old’s head after his nap, those little details that are only there for a moment. Pregnancy is something that I didn’t document well for myself, and I’m so glad when people decide to have maternity photos taken because I wish I had! It’s a special time of anticipation, when all the relationships in the family are about to shift a bit, and I feel like it’s important to document those relationships as they are in that moment.
I met this sweet couple at their home in mid-town Fort Collins, then we walked to a little natural area near their house for some outdoor shots. I’m looking forward to going back to their home in March to meet their new addition! Here are a few of my favorite shots of Laura and Brandon as they wait for their baby.
